Maida Hill Place needs your views

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

As building work continues on Maida Hill Place, our new community venue alongside Maida Hill Market, we need your ideas on services, facilities and activities that should take place there. We’re interested in hearing anything you have to say – from ideas about events or services you’d like to run, to suggestions on opening hours, charges or equipment, to facilities you think are missing in the rest of the area.

Some ideas so far have been….

  • Creating a community arts venue with rentable exhibition space
  • Running cookery classes and world food sessions
  • Offering training to prospective market traders
  • Holding film nights or book clubs
  • Providing evening yoga classes and relaxation sessions

An online survey will be available shortly – but in the meantime, please comment below or email kierra.box@genesisha.org.uk with your thoughts.

Thanks!

Fermoy Road Firegate

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

A group of Hormead and Fermoy Road residents are currently in discussion with Westminster Council about the future of the emergency access gate on Fermoy Road. As the emergency services don’t use the gate, and residents are concerned about the number of motorbikes using the pavement as a way to bypass it, we’re beginning some consultation on how the council could change that area to improve its safety and the way it looks.

At the moment there are a number of suggestions under consideration, and we need you to share your views and ideas to make sure that the final result is something that improves the road for everyone who uses it. You can add any suggestions below, or click here to take our short survey.
