Come and Celebrate the Relaunch of the Historic Chippenham Pub Hotel!

207 Shirland Road
London W9 3EX

Schedule of Events Friday 29 October:
• Tastings – showcasing new food menu & wine list
• Presentations – Great British Pub Week / Local History display
• Performances – live tribute band

Chippenham publicans Mango and Silvana are delighted to announce the relaunch of the Chippenham Pub
Hotel W9, Friday 29th October, to celebrate Great British Pub Week (30 Oct – 6 Nov).
The Chippenham, a listed building, has been a hive of activity this year in preparation for the launch, and now has a
new look, a respected new chef serving pub food daily and Sunday roasts, regular events, and all new London
Tourist Board Accreditation.

‘The Chip’ has always been loved by locals and visitors to W9… Well-known punters include Rob Young of Primal
Scream, and for many years Norman Wisdom’s father (the family lived around the corner on Fernhead Road). The
pub’s musical connections are well documented too; The Clash and The 101ers also play a part in its history.
Popular landlord Mango, who has been a publican for over twenty years, says:
“In the 10 years I’ve been at the Chippenham – five years behind the bar then leaseholder since 2005 – its reputation
has really turned around. Some may recall its ‘wild’ days, but in this millennium it’s known as a family friendly,
community based local. We have regular corporate and holiday travelers staying at the hotel, and this summer we
had ‘pop-up’ Opera which went down a storm. We also run very well attended weekly poker nights, live music on
Saturdays and regular sporting fixtures, as well as big, themed special events around Irish Day, St George’s Day,
Halloween, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Families are welcome at these events or any day of the week.
We’re currently in discussions with the North Paddington History Group to host a Pub Quiz Night, and on December
14th, the Harrow Road Community Choir will perform. Then in early 2011 we’re planning “Chippenham’s Got Talent”
and a regular Cinema Night. There’s a lot going on! I’m excited to have our new in-house chef, Andrew Fila, with us
and also very proud of our accreditation from the London Tourist Board.”

Three Facts about The Chippenham: Did You Know?
• The 101ers played there…
• An interior wall features restored tiles discovered after the Blitz…
• It was used as an overflow church back in the day…!

HRNP Exit Survey

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

As you know, HRNP will cease to operate in its current form on April 1st 2011. This means that we will be spending the next six months looking at ways to ensure that residents are still able to meet, take action, get involved and solve local problems after we leave. We have developed a questionnaire for you to fill in with your views, and in the New Year we will be developing recommendations for our Partners and the council on how services and community support should work in the future based on the responses we receive. This means that it is really important that you fill in the questionnaire with as much detail as possible and get it back to us by December 17th.

We realise that there are a lot of questions but your responses will be really important in shaping the way local service operate after April 1st. To show our appreciation of your time we are offering entry to a prize draw for every questionnaire returned and have two competition questions with special prizes up for grabs. If you have any questions or require support in filling in the questionnaire please get in touch.

You can fill the survey in online here, or by contacting the office for a hard copy.
